Deashing of Ethylene Glycol

As the demand for electric vehicles (EVs) continues to rise, the development of efficient and reliable cooling systems becomes crucial.

Coolants play a vital role in maintaining the optimal operating temperature of various components, including batteries and electronics.

Mono ethylene glycol (MEG) possesses several key specifications and characteristics that make it an excellent choice as a coolant for electric vehicles:

  • Thermal stability
  • Low toxicity
  • High heat capacity
  • Anti-freezing and anti-corrosion properties

The various electrical components in EV's generate heat during operation and require cooling.

Coolant circulates through cooling channels, coming into contact with these electrical components.

If the coolant has high electrical conductivity, it can potentially create electrical paths between different components, leading to malfunctions or damage.

Therefore, it is important to use coolants with low electrical conductivity to minimize the risk of electrical issues.

This low electrical conductivity is feasible by using ion exchange processes as it is highly efficient, safe and economic.
