In a lot of processes, specially in organic materials, fouling occurs naturally. One example of fouling is the formation of amines.
These are in many cases undesired as they result in reduced efficiencies, reduced capacities and even damaging of equipment.
A highly efficient and economically interesting way of removing this fouling is through ion exchange.
